The American Society for Public Administration is the leading professional membership association for public service. Its members include federal, state, and local government employees; researchers and scholars; students; nonprofit professionals; and others committed to advancing public service excellence in the United States and around the world.

This recognition from ASPA is just one of many Mr. Tanghe has received throughout his career. In 2011, Mr. Tanghe was the Michigan Local Government Management Association’s (now Michigan Municipal Executives) Excellence in Local Government Management award recipient. In 2015, he received the Oakland University Alumni Community Service Award. In 2018, he was recognized by the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce with the Raymond James Higher Standard Award, followed in 2021 with the Atlas Copco Excellence Award. Most recently, in 2022, he received the Mentoring Award from Michigan Municipal Executives. Mr. Tanghe is without question worthy of being named Executive Official of the Year by the American Society of Public Administration. The City of Auburn Hills is fortunate to benefit from Mr. Tanghe’s leadership for more than two decades.
