What exactly goes into the Tree Lighting Ceremony?
The saying “Christmas in July,” is very true and close to the hearts of Auburn Hills staff. Beginning in early summer, meetings are scheduled with representatives from all departments to prepare for our biggest event of the Holiday season. We begin by selecting vendors to help make this such a wonderful and memorable ceremony. Vendors include, Santa & Mrs. Claus, the Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, a Magician, Photographers, Musicians, and Face Painters. This is done very early so we can be sure that everything we want is available on the date we need. Continue reading “Have you wondered…?”
As 2014 ends and the Holiday season begins, I am aware of all the things that I am thankful for in my life. I have a job that I love to come to everyday, the health of my family and friends, and everything else in my life. I am also fortunate to live in a caring community. We take for granted all the things we have. I have someone to fix my faucet when it drips, make sure that the bills are paid, groceries in the cupboard, and a home to live in. I know that some people are less fortunate, and my family always tries to do what we can to help, especially during the holidays. Continue reading “A Caring, Sharing, and Giving Community”
Santa has placed a mailbox in Downtown Auburn Hills that sends mail directly to the North Pole! Throughout the holiday season, kids from 1 to 99 can write letters and mail them to Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves. Simply draft your letter, and drop it off in the big red mailbox located in front of The DEN at the intersection of Auburn and Squirrel Road. If you leave a return address, perhaps a Santa will take some time in the off season to reply. Feel free to be creative and crafty with your work. Perhaps your letter will assure that you are on the nice list!
