Did you know that the people who build, retrofit, and serve as construction managers for most of the giant manufacturing plants operated by General Motors and FCA US are located right here in the City of Auburn Hills?
Founded in 1946, this dynamic company is named Commercial Contracting Corporation (CCC) and they employ about 200 people at their World Headquarters at 4260 N. Atlantic Boulevard. CCC is a full-service contractor that specializes in all phases of the building construction and equipment installation process. Over the past few decades, they have diversified their business portfolio by expanding to non-automotive clients like NASA, Marathon Oil, Consumers Energy, MBS Airport, and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital to name a few.
The CCC’s primary corporate value is to “Keep People Safe” and they’re very intentional about their safety procedures. As you can imagine, accidents often happen on large construction sites involving hundreds of workers and heavy equipment. CCC takes pride in specializing in dirty, difficult, and dangerous work. They don’t back away from a challenge, they’re just smart about how they go about addressing complex projects. Michael Hayes at CCC recently told us, “our goal is to send our people home at the end of the day the same way they came to work in the morning.” In 2014, their hard work came to fruition as CCC achieved an unheard of safety milestone in the construction business by self-performing over one million man-hours with no employees losing time from work due to injury. Their commitment to excellence is inspiring.
On April 1st, CCC will be celebrating their 15th anniversary at their beautiful facility. I think you would agree, it’s pretty cool that this impressive company is based right here in our town.
