More than 100 residents from the Northeast Corner of Auburn Hills braved the cold weather Tuesday evening for the opportunity to provide input into decisions that will shape future developments in their neighborhood.

This meeting was designed to facilitate face-to-face conversations between residents and City officials, Planning Commissioners and City staff members.  Over the years, the Planning Commission has made it a practice to go out into the community to hold these types of discussions in an attempt to make it more convenient and comfortable for residents.

Participants enthusiastically shared their opinions, preferences and concerns about housing density, attached housing developments, land use, retail options, clean industrial developments, and traffic conditions.  They also discussed technology effectiveness in terms of cell phone and data coverage and shared thoughts on a favorite city amenity – Hawk Woods Nature Center and what, if anything, should or could be improved.

Information gathered that evening will be compiled and reviewed with residents at a follow-up meeting scheduled for February 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the North Auburn Hills Baptist Church, located at 3889 North Squirrel Road.   We hope to see you there.
