You may recall the Northeast blackout of August 2003 that knocked out the power throughout the Northeastern and Midwestern United States and the Canadian Province of Ontario. Some folks lost power for two days while others were without power for nearly a week.
To help assure you have reliable power, ITC Transmission is upgrading approximately four miles of transmission lines that serve the Auburn Hills, Pontiac, and Rochester Hills communities. The goal of the project is to improve the reliability of high-voltage electrical service in the area by replacing the current 120kV double-circuit lattice towers with 230kV double-circuit monopoles. The upgrades are going to occur within the ITC easement located along the Clinton River Trail.
Work began in January 2016 and is expected to be completed in June 2016. Segments of the Clinton river Trail will be temperately closed during periods of construction.
