As part of our economic development and business retention strategy, we visit our companies to get to know them better and to discuss any opportunities they are seeking or challenges they may be experiencing.

On Monday we met with representatives of GKN and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to get reacquainted with their team since they moved into their new building on Opdyke Road in June of 2015.

During our meetings, we typically discuss things like employee and training needs, new technology and sometimes even expansion plans. However, I was most fascinated to learn that GKN is the oldest automotive firm in the world–they just celebrated their 257^th birthday.  Happy Birthday, GKN!  We are honored that you have chosen to reinvest in our community!  We wish you continued success!
