Back in 1982, friends and neighbors Barbara Bradley-Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller went on a vacation. As the two women walked through the airport, they noticed a lack of attractive, feminine-looking luggage and it planted the seed for a new business. With an investment of just $250.00 each, they started their own luggage and handbag company called Vera Bradley. Today the company’s revenues from continuing operations total over $500 million.
Their offerings are bright, bold, feminine and unmistakably fun. Vera Bradley offers colorful luggage, handbags, gifts, jewelry, scarves, eyewear, hair accessories, stationary, keychains and charms, and even tech accessories like iPhone cases and tablet covers…the list goes on.
A new 2,800 sq. ft. Vera Bradley store is scheduled to open on May 6th in Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in District 2. You can find the new store between TJ Maxx and Saks Fifth Avenue’s Off Fifth.
