This past Friday staff from Auburn Hills and the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce were joined by around 50 individuals employed at small businesses throughout the city for our first Business Picnic. This was an opportunity for city staff to meet and provide information to members of our vibrant small business community. A similar event, called the Auburn Hills Road Show, has been offered in the past to larger companies including Comerica and Faurecia.
Guests enjoyed the beautiful weather in Riverside Park while meeting with representatives from our various departments; City Manager, City Clerk, Police, Fire, Community Development, Recreation, Senior Services and Fieldstone Golf Club. In addition to a delicious barbecue dinner, attendees were able to register to vote, learned about city parks and workplace safety, and networked with members of City Council. City staff enjoyed the opportunity to meet members of our small business community and learn more about the goods and services provided to residents and other businesses.
A special thank you is owed to the Auburn Hills Tax Increment Finance Authority who generously sponsored this event for our small businesses. Additional thanks to Fieldstone Golf Club and Bishop International Airport for their generous raffle prizes, and to Crank’s Catering for preparing the barbecue dinner.
