In celebration of River Day, the City of Auburn Hills held its 13th Annual Fishing Derby at Riverside Park this past Saturday. This year 127 young anglers lined the banks of the Clinton River with the goal of catching any one of the 550 rainbow trout the City had stocked at Riverside Park in Downtown Auburn Hills.
This year’s sunny weather made it more enjoyable for all those who participated in the derby as did the raffle at the end. Thanks to the generous support from all the Fishing Derby Sponsors, all 127 kids walked away with a prize.
The days that follow the Derby will be the real challenge for the avid angler, in trying to locate the fishing holes where the trout now reside. As in years past, the trout will continue to reside in the waters of Auburn Hills for several months, growing bigger each day.
