It was truly a great occasion and good time at Summerfest on Saturday, June 25. The City of Auburn Hills Senior Services Department sponsored a bake sale to help support our Meals on Wheels program (MOW). The Auburn Hills Meals on Wheels program delivered over 17,000 meals last year to homebound seniors in Auburn Hills.
We would like to send a big “shout out” to all who generously donated baked goods to “Grandma’s Kitchen” to help raise money for our Meals On Wheels program.
We are pleased to report nearly $500 was raised. This will purchase about 170 meals for our homebound seniors.
Thanks to all those who purchased baked goods. I know I bought the pecan pie baked by Mary D, and all I could say was “uh uh Good”.
Kudos to volunteers Janet Lacoste and Kathy Ardelean who so willingly volunteered all day to assist me with the bake sale. It was truly a pleasure working with these two faithful ladies.
Thank you to our DPW crew for transporting the baked goods to and from the tents. This made our jobs of getting things set up much easier.
You can look forward to next year for “Grandma’s Kitchen” baked goods. Again, thank you to all for your support of Meals On Wheels.
