The City of Auburn Hills held its 8th Annual State Championship Barbecue Cook-Off on June 24th and 25th.  The cook-off, which was part of the Auburn Hills Summerfest event, was sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.  Thirty teams competed in all four categories including chicken, pork ribs, pork and brisket for the coveted Grand Championship title.  This year the City had four teams from Ohio and one team from Georgia competing in the event.

Congratulations to the 2016 Grand Champions – SmokinAces@TheBBQSuperStore.com, from Spring Lake, Michigan.  They will now be considered for participation in the two largest invitational BBQ contests in the world, the American Royal in Kansas City, and the Jack Daniel’s World Championship BBQ Invitational in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
