An application has been submitted to the City of Auburn Hills by J.A.R. Development Company for approval to construct a speculative 98,084 square foot office / light industrial facility near the southeast corner of Joslyn Road and Pacific Drive. The 5.79 acre site is situated within the former Kmart parking lot between the gas station and Inalfa Roof Systems. J.A.R. is currently in discussions with several potential tenants for the building.

J.A.R. specializes in the design and development of attractive light industrial facilities. The company has constructed a number of similar buildings in Auburn Hills over the past 20 years. The City is excited to see this project come forward as it will be an improvement to the area by redeveloping the unsightly sea of parking. J.A.R. plans to create a R&D facility similar to its previous transformation of the adjacent Food Town grocery store into Inalfa Roof System’s Tech Center. The development will also provide quality landscaping to upgrade the aesthetics of the property as visible from adjacent developments.

Those interested in learning more about this proposal are encouraged to attend the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall. A final decision on the application is anticipated to be made by the City Council on Monday, July 24th.
