It was perfectly fitting that the first ever Artisans on Auburn – A Holiday Show, hosted by the Downtown Development Authority, just so happened to be the same day as the first significant snowfall of the season. The snow made the perfect backdrop for crafters and shoppers alike peering out the windows of the University Center onto Auburn Road in Downtown Auburn Hills. However, the weather did not stop shoppers from visiting as over 225 people stopped by this past Saturday to shop!
There was a wide variety of crafters selling handmade goods. The show featured scarves, purses, jewelry, barn wood, and pallet products as well as a variety of gifts made from wine bottles. Some of the crafters/entrepreneurs traveled down Auburn Road a few doors to Michigan by the Bottle Tasting Room to show patrons their items.
It was a wonderful first show. Many of the crafters may participate in our show at next year’s Summerfest. We’re thankful for everyone who braved the elements to support this event and our Downtown.
