A development application has been submitted to the City of Auburn Hills by Bob’s Discount Furniture to demolish the existing Staples store, located at 280 Brown Road, to make room for the construction of a new two-story, 35,037 square foot retail store.   The site is adjacent to the Best Buy store.

Bob’s Discount Furniture is relatively new to the Michigan market.  Since 1991, the company has built strong customer loyalty across the country by offering a great selection of quality furniture that’s comfortable, stylish, durable, and affordable.  They like to say that they put the fun in furniture shopping as all of their stores feature an “on the house” cafe with gourmet coffee, ice cream, cookies, and candy.

Those interested in learning more about this proposal are encouraged to attend the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall.  A final decision on the application is anticipated by the City Council on Monday, January 28th.

If approved by the City Council, the project’s construction would begin by October 2019 with completion anticipated by Spring 2020.
