Property Proposed For Rezoning At SW Corner of Taylor and Lapeer

An application has been submitted to the City of Auburn Hills by General Development Company to rezone a 7.6-acre parcel of vacant land located at the southwest corner of Taylor Road and Lapeer Road from B-2, General Business to I-1, Light Industrial District.  The property abuts the City’s Fieldstone Golf Club.  If the rezoning is approved by the City Council, the company intends to build a corporate office/light industrial facility on the property.

Since 2011, General Development Company has built or has under construction, ten projects within the City for national and international companies totaling 1.7 million square feet.  They are currently building a 461,525 square foot light industrial facility for FANUC America Corporation on West Entrance Drive.

Those interested in learning more about this rezoning proposal are encouraged to attend the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall.  A final decision on the application is anticipated by the City Council on Monday, January 28th.
