One of these days temperatures will begin to be in the 50’s and 60’s, and it will be feeling much more like spring. That will be a signal that it won’t be long before summer is in full swing and we will celebrate the opening of our new amphitheater and children’s splash pad!
If you visit downtown Auburn Hills right now, you will see a lot of activity happening with the construction in Riverside Park, new townhomes being built next to the park, and soon the groundbreakings of at least two or three more projects in and around the downtown area. Our downtown is beginning to reap the rewards of significant investment which will lead to a more thriving downtown business district and more signs of activity on our sidewalks and in our businesses. A ribbon cutting for the new amphitheater and splash pad will be celebrated on Friday evening, June 21 as part of the kickoff of Summerfest. Everyone is invited to attend and no doubt you will be impressed with the park’s transformation. The ribbon cutting event will also provide an opportunity to recognize the many individual and corporate donors who donated to the new park.
If you haven’t been to downtown Auburn Hills lately, we invite you to check it out. With the new road infrastructure in place from late last fall, and the new residences and commercial buildings underway or about to begin, you will see that downtown Auburn Hills is taking the next step to our community having its own bustling downtown.
