Where’s The Beef?

I  had a chance last Friday to have lunch with Mayor McDaniel at Build-A-Burger, a new restaurant in town located at the northeast corner of Opdyke Road and Pontiac Road.  The business opened about three weeks ago and I’ve had a couple of people tell me that they’ve tried it out and enjoyed it.

Who doesn’t love a good burger place?  We arrived at the restaurant to find a simple menu that made ordering easy.  You step up to the counter and you choose from beef, turkey, chicken, or veggie.  Then you choose from either American, Cheddar or Swiss cheese, choose your toppings, add fries if you want them, and finally, add a beverage.  For $9.95, you get everything mentioned and it’s really good.  One thing I like to point out is the speed of service.  For those of you who might be going to Build-A-Burger on your lunch hour, the last thing you need to do is wait 30 minutes for a burger and fries.  I watched everyone who came in before us and everyone who came in after us, and I think it’s safe to say that we were all served our meals within about ten minutes.  Don’t quote me on that – I wasn’t using a stopwatch.

All I know is that it was fast, it was cooked to my liking, and it was good.  By the way, the young lady who greeted us from behind the counter when we walked in had a smile on her face and she made us feel like she was glad we were there.  Seriously!  I’m no restaurant critic, but I know the difference between a good burger and a not-so-good burger.  I had a good burger at Build-A-Burger.
