Here are a few assets the Auburn Hills Department of Public Works maintains on a daily basis:
300+ Vehicles & Equipment
180+ Lane Miles of Roads
2,700+ Storm Drains
200+ Miles of Sewer Pipe
200+ Miles of Water Pipe
6,000+ Water Meters
35 Buildings
130 Acres of Grass
9 Parks with 7 Play Structures
130+ Miles of Path & Trails
1,200+ Light Poles
1,000s of Trees
All of this with a total of 47 employees. It can be a challenge to maintain all our City’s great assets. We have systems to help manage things, but our residents and visitors play a huge part of that system.
There are over 23,000 residents in Auburn Hills. That’s 23,000 sets of eyes. So, we like to encourage our residents to say something, if they see something. We all want our City to be a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family. If you see something that doesn’t seem right: say something. Vandalism in our parks: say something. Attention needed on a play structure: say something. Comfort stations need attention: say something. Potholes on City roads: say something. Water bubbling up through the ground: say something. Have ideas of how to improve our City’s infrastructure: say something.

The DPW has much to do. If we work together, we can continue to make the City of Auburn Hills a great place to live, work and play.
