This week two enhancements will be wrapped up at River Side Park. The first enhancement is the new playground. This playground is funded through Tax Increment Finance Authority and a grant through GameTime. Unfortunately all playgrounds are currently closed under executive orders, so please watch for updated information on when the new Riverside Park playground will be open to the public. We are eager to see people of all ages and abilities enjoying this new playground as soon as possible!

The second improvement is a new pavilion. This pavilion is funded by a donation from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the Tax Increment Finance Authority. Likewise, the pavilion was constructed by the Department of Public Works. Pavilion rentals for June and beyond are currently tentative; however if you are looking to rent the new pavilion please call the Community Center at 248-370-9353.

With the Stay At Home order being extended to the end of May, we don’t know the exact steps our State will take to reopen and what size gatherings will be considered safe and when. Know that your Recreation Department is doing everything they can to creatively re-plan activities this summer in a way that allows for physical distancing. Please keep your eye out for updated information about summer programs and events.
