Trout Unlimited Works to Keep the Clinton River Clean

Clear blues skies greeted the nine volunteers from the Clinton Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited (TU) on the morning of Saturday, August 22nd as they strapped on their waders and walked the banks and bed of the Clinton River, picking up all the trash that had washed onshore and pooled in the eddies.

During their three hours of dedicated service to the community, these loyal river stewards managed to remove over nine bags of trash and other debris from a mile stretch of the river just upstream of Riverside Park.  The group’s commitment that day will go a long way in improving the health, recreational use, and aesthetics of the Clinton River and prevent the trash from washing downstream to Riverside Park.

So the next time you’re enjoying your time fishing, kayaking, or viewing the Clinton River in Auburn Hills, it can be attributed in large part to the clean-up efforts of volunteers from the Clinton Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

The City of Auburn Hills sends out a special thank you to all the volunteers who took part in the clean-up that day and for adopting this one-mile section of the Clinton River.
