The patients: winter plow trucks. The doctors: fleet technicians.
Just like you and I, the DPW’s plow trucks go through an annual checkup to make sure they are in perfect health to operate during the winter season.
The checkup is a three-step process: 1) conduct a 100 point inspection and do repairs as needed, 2) Calculate all salt and brine capacities, and 3) recheck functions and inspect the front plows. All ten of our trucks (4 tandem axle wing blades, 3 regular tandem axle, and 3 single axle trucks) get a checkup every fall before winter comes. When you see a plow truck this winter, know that it’s been checked out by the best docs at the DPW!
