It is that time of year again! This upcoming school year will be an exciting year for both school age children and their parents. The previous academic year contained many challenges revolving around the COVID-19 pandemic.
Neighborhood House is looking forward to holding their annual back-to-school event. Going into the new school year with a backpack filled with new school supplies creates excitement for many of the children going into the new school year. Unfortunately, for many financially challenged families in our community, the start of the new school year is filled with stress instead of excitement.
In collaboration with the Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital, Neighborhood House is helping children ages 4-18 start the school year ready to learn and succeed. Neighborhood House will be collecting donations beginning on Tuesday, July 13th until Friday, August 6th. School age children living in Auburn Hills, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Oakland Township, Addison Township, or Village of Leonard are all eligible to receive donations through the Neighborhood House Blast Off 2 School program.
How can you help? The City of Auburn Hills City Hall will serve as a school supply collection site and will have a container for donations in the front lobby. You are welcome to drop off any school supplies from the suggested school supply list below between July 13th and August 6th. The Auburn Hills City Hall is located at 1827 N. Squirrel Road in Auburn Hills, Michigan and is open between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM., Monday through Friday.
