We are thrilled to share that our Recreation Department was selected to receive the 2023 mParks Innovative Recreation Programming Award for their work on hosting Feed Your Soul! This is the City’s second consecutive win in mPark’s Innovative Recreation Programming category.

The Michigan Recreation and Park Association’s annual awards honor exemplary park and recreation professionals and the Innovative Recreation Programming category recognizes creativity and high-level performance. The award was presented at the 2023 mParks Conference & Trade Show on March 9, 2023, at the Lansing Center in Lansing, Michigan.

Feed Your Soul combines soul food with live music performances in Downtown Auburn Hills. The 2022 community event included food trucks, merchants, and outstanding performances by Paula Michelle and Nadir Omowale. Hosted at Riverside Park, Feed Your Soul was designed to evoke New Orleans and the pleasure that comes from an evening relaxing by the river with good food and drink.
