It is our pleasure to announce that we are restructuring and merging the Recreation Department and Senior Services Department to create the Department of Recreation and Senior Services.
Given the background of the two departments and their shared commitment to improving the quality of life in Auburn Hills, it is fitting to join both departments’ talents and consolidate the leadership. The new Department of Recreation and Senior Services will connect people of all ages and abilities to health, wellness, enrichment and supportive services, programs and resources.
Karen Adcock, previously Director of Senior Services, will lead the newly combined department and oversee our Community Center operations. Ms. Adcock possesses a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration and Sociology from the University of Michigan – Flint and has more than 33 years of management experience in Senior Services.
Ms. Adcock will be closely assisted by Pauline Beckett, previously Senior Services Program Coordinator. In her new role as Assistant Director of Recreation and Senior Services, Ms. Beckett brings over 13 years of experience in parks, recreation and senior services. Ms. Beckett possesses a Bachelor degree in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies from Central Michigan University.

With this reorganization, we look forward to streamlining operations and continuing to provide enhanced programs, special events and supportive services for the residents of Auburn Hills. Just like milk and cookies, Recreation and Senior Services go better together.
