A K9 Nose Best

On Wednesday, City officials and staff celebrated with Elite Detection K9 to help kick off construction in their new space.  Special guests along with Greg Guidice, EDK9’s president and CEO, smashed an existing wall with sledgehammers to mark the start of renovations to their space.

The company, which operates out of Leader Dogs For the Blind’s facility, breeds, raises and trains American-bred Labrador Retrievers and German Shepherds to detect explosives and guns.  The American-bred scent-detection dogs will be used to protect schools, hospitals, businesses, public venues, and more.

This new headquarters facility will house a training area, as well as a full veterinary clinic with the ability to perform surgeries, X-rays and ultrasounds. It will also include five separate villages for the dogs, including spaces for breeding moms, a birthing space and more.

We are so excited to welcome Elite Detection K9 to the Auburn Hills community.
