It has been a goal of my administration and of our City Council to be diligent about succession planning within our organization and to promote from within whenever possible. Frankly, I’m a beneficiary of that policy having served as Assistant City Manager from 2001 to 2014 and then being promoted to City Manager in 2014. So it was a privilege to look on as Fire Department Administrative Officer Trevin Robinson was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief and sworn-in on Friday, February 12, 2021. Trevin recently took part in a daylong competitive process that included a number of highly qualified external candidates. The rigorous assessment process was designed to determine who would best be suited to become our next Assistant Fire Chief. When all was said and done, Trevin rose to the top; a testimony to his hard work and dedication, as well as the good job the department has done to train and develop him for this next step in his career. No doubt he will serve the Auburn Hills community well.
