ABB Robotics’ Opens Refitted Headquarters in Auburn Hills

On an ordinary Wednesday morning that began by driving to work in an ordinary car and pouring coffee with ordinary human hands, I found myself transported to the future. At least that’s what it felt like at the ABB Robotics’ brand-new Customer Experience Center, where robots displayed finesse with automated tasks and wandered the floors with trays of cookies.

On March 13, Mayor Marzolf, along with members of City Council and city staff, as well as local dignitaries and robotics customers, attended the ABB Robotics and Automation Summit to learn more about their recently renovated and refitted North American headquarters in Auburn Hills. The expansion reflects ABB Robotics’ commitment to long-term growth in Michigan and the US market. To address labor shortages, the need for sustainability and tighter supply chains, ABB Robotics is leading the way in the manufacturing of cutting-edge robotic solutions and AI-powered technologies. From bakeries and sushi restaurants to genetic testing laboratories, packaging centers, and automotive manufacturers, ABB robotic innovations provide productivity solutions to a wide range of customers.

The summit was a fascinating opportunity to see the strides that ABB Robotics is making in the automation industry. It will be a privilege to witness their continued momentum right here in Auburn Hills and to know that ABB manufactures their robots in the United States.  Celebrating their 50th anniversary and with 30 years of that at their U.S. robotics headquarters in Auburn Hills, we are excited to send our congratulations to ABB Robotics!
