Greystone Pickleball Club of Auburn Hills

On Monday evening, April 15, 2024, City Council approved the site plan for Greystone Pickleball Club of Auburn Hills.  The more than 60,000 s.f. building will be constructed on a 4.7-acre site located on the east side of Opdyke Road, just north of Featherstone Road.  The building will not only address the growing demand for the sport but will also become a new venue for special events in the city.  With eighteen courts and a full-service kitchen and bar, Greystone Pickleball Club is sure to become a great new gathering place for pickleball enthusiasts.  The sport continues to gain popularity among all age groups, and since Michigan doesn’t enjoy twelve months of sunshine like states such as Florida, this indoor venue solves the problem of a limited outdoor playing season.

As an added bonus, the facility was able to be designed on a site with multiple challenges.  First, the property has a rather unusual configuration, but the owners were able to make the best of those circumstances.  Additionally, the soil conditions require special (and more expensive) footings and foundations.  Thanks to an incentive grant from the Auburn Hills Tax Increment Finance Authority, the owners of Greystone Pickleball Club were able to make the economics of the project work.

Expect to see a groundbreaking in the next couple of months.  A one-year construction schedule should have Greystone Pickleball Club fully operational by summer of 2025.
