In 2018, we had a relatively busy road construction season and 2019 will be much the same. Efforts are already underway in preparation for spring to get the 2018 projects completed that were delayed because of the heavy equipment operator’s union lockout, as well as scheduled 2019 projects started. One of the 2019 projects we are eager to share with you is MDOT’s upcoming $18.5 million investment in Auburn Hills.
In April, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin construction on I-75 from Baldwin Road through the M-59 Loop. The work will include maintenance on 21 bridges, concrete road repairs, and various asphalt resurfacing. The $18.5 million investment is anticipated to be completed in November.

City staff is currently working with MDOT to create a sign up for project updates. Sign up directions will be provided with the April water bill, as well as through social media and on the City’s website once available. To learn more about MDOT road and bridge projects, click here.
