City Councilmember John Burmeister Retires

City Councilmember John Burmeister said his farewells at the Monday, November 1 City Council meeting.  Burmeister served on City Council for the last eight years, leaving as its Mayor Pro-tem.  While John has decided to take some time off from his work as a local elected official, we suspect that one day we may see his name on the ballot again.  He has served the City with distinction and is a supporter of everything Auburn Hills.  Prior to being an elected official, John retired from the City as its Fire Chief.  His knowledge of the City and especially fire department operations made him a valuable asset.  Working with John, you clearly know that he never puts himself first and always acts to do what is best for the overall community.  City Council and staff alike will miss John’s contributions to the community as well as his good nature.  Everyone here at the City wishes you nothing but the best John.
